Esterhazy Steak

Ingredients

  • • 900g steak, sliced
  • • 2/5 c dripping
  • • 3 carrots, coarsely chopped
  • • 2 onions, coarsely chopped
  • • 2 stalks celery, coarsely chopped
  • • ½ green pepper. coarsely chopped
  • • seasoning
  • • 2 t capers
  • • 2 t paprika
  • • 3 T flour
  • • 1 ¼ c stock
  • • 3 T sour cream
  • • 3 T Madeira wine

Instructions

Sauté vegetables. Sprinkle with flour and add stock. Add cream. Fry steak and place in a casserole dish with the vegetables and sauce. Bake at 180 C for 35 - 40 minutes. Add wine 5 minutes before serving.
