Bierrocks

Ingredients

  • • 2 c warm water
  • • 2 T yeast
  • • ¼ c sugar
  • • 1 ½ t salt
  • • 1 egg
  • • ¼ c margarine
  • • 6 - 6 ½ c flour
  • • Filling:
  • • ½ kg mince
  • • 1 onion chopped
  • • ¾ c tomato paste
  • • ¼ c water
  • • 2 t sugar
  • • 1 t oregano
  • • 1 t salt
  • • 1/8 t pepper
  • • grated cheese

Instructions

Bread: Combine water, yeast and sugar. Add remaining ingredients and knead well. Divide into balls about the size of a ping pong ball. Rise an hour. Roll out, fill with filling, add a teaspoon of cheese. Pinch closed underneath and place on a greased sheet. Rise for 15 minutes. Bake 180 C for 20 - 30 minutes. Can be glazed with egg and seeds. Filling: Brown meat and onion. Cook the rest together, except cheese. Cool.
