Chop pork finely, sprinkle with sugar and leave to stand. Drain and season well. Mix batter together, dip pork pieces in and fry in deep oil. ((Alice's recipe uses 2 eggs, 2T flour and 4T corn starch. Mix all pork in together, and then fry.)) Finely slice vegetables and sauté lightly. Cook water and soy. Add corn flour to salt when boiling. Add vegetables at the last minute. Serve pork and sauce over rice.
