Bread Sauce

Ingredients
- • 1 onion chopped
- • 2 cloves
- • 1 bay leaf
- • 5-10 peppercorns
- • 2 c milk
- • ¼ c butter
- • salt and pepper to taste
- • 4-8 slices chopped white bread
Instructions
Heat onion through seasoning gently, allowing to stand if possible, for an hour. Strain all ingredients out of the milk and heat again. Gradually add bread over low heat, till sauce is thick. Adjust seasoning. Serve with roast poultry.
