  • 3 chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 1 1/2 c water
  • Seasoning
  • 2 t sweet basil
  • 2 T flour
  • 2 sticks celery, chopped
  • 3 grated carrots
  • 3 T oil
  • 1-2 cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 T sugar

Milk sauce:

  • 1/2 c butter
  • 4 c milk
  • 1/2 t salt
  • 2 bay leaves
  • pinch parsley
  • 1/4 t paprika
  • 4 peppercorns
  • 1 stick celery
  • 1 onion roughly chopped
  • 1/2 c cornstarch

  • Grated cheese
  • Lasagna noodles - preferably precooked

Instructions

Soften vegetables in oil.

Brown meat and add to vegetables with other ingredients and simmer for an hour.

Boil all but corn starch and enough milk to mix it with. Leave to stand as long as you can, before straining and thickening with cornstarch.

Layer meat mix, with lasagna sheets and white sauce. Make sure lasagna sheets are well covered with enough liquid to cook well.

Sprinkle with cheese.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes.

Serve with garlic bread and salad.
