Country Spice Cake

• 1 ½ c sugar
• ¾ c butter
• 3 large eggs
• 1 T vanilla
• 2 ½ c flour
• 1 ¼ c milk
• 2 ½ t baking powder
• 2 t ginger
• 2 t cinnamon
• 1 t salt
• ½ t cloves

Beat sugar and butter until sandy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Add flour and other ingredients. Beat for one minute.

Pour into three 8-inch rounds.

Bake for 20 - 25 minutes at 350° F.

Ice with Molasses Butter Cream recipe.

Cake must be refrigerated.
