Ingredients

1 c self-rising flour
•
1/8 c butter
•
1/8 c sugar
•
1 t baking powder
•
<1/2 c buttermilk
Instructions
Mix dry ingredients. Gently cut in butter until crumbly. Add buttermilk and knead lightly 20 - 25 times only. Pat out into a circle or square till ½ inch thick. Cut into about 9 pieces and bake at 450° F for 10-12 minutes. Serve hot with a meal, or cooled as scones with jam and cream.
