Sesame Chicken

Ingredients

  • 3 whole chicken breasts

Marinade

  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 1 T wine or sherry
  • few drops sesame oil
  • 2 T flour
  • 2 T corn starch
  • 2 T water
  • ¼ t baking soda
  • ¼ t baking powder
  • 1 t vegetable oil

Sauce

  • ½ cup water
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/8 cup vinegar
  • \-1/4 cup corn starch
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 T soy sauce
  • 2 T sesame oil
  • 1 t chili paste/sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, minced

Other

  • 2 T toasted sesame seeds
  • 3 -4 cups oil, to deep fry chicken

Instructions

Toast sesame seeds in frying pan and set aside.

Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes.

Marinade

Mix up marinade and put chicken into it for 20 minutes.

Sauce

Prepare the sauce by mixing all ingredients together, pour into a pot and bring to a boil, stirring all the time. Keep warm over gentle heat while frying chicken.

Deep fry chicken a few pieces at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels.

Place chicken in serving dish, cover with sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

Serve with rice.
