Sesame Chicken

Recipe by Marinade:

Ingredients

  • β€’ 3 whole chicken breasts
  • β€’ 2 T soy sauce
  • β€’ 1 T wine or sherry
  • β€’ few drops sesame oil
  • β€’ 2 T flour
  • β€’ 2 T corn starch
  • β€’ 2 T water
  • β€’ ΒΌ t baking soda
  • β€’ ΒΌ t baking powder
  • β€’ 1 t vegetable oil
  • β€’ Sauce:
  • β€’ Β½ cup water
  • β€’ 1 cup chicken broth
  • β€’ 1/8 cup vinegar
  • β€’ \-1/4 cup corn starch
  • β€’ ΒΎ cup sugar
  • β€’ 2 T soy sauce
  • β€’ 2 T sesame oil
  • β€’ 1 t chili paste/sauce
  • β€’ 1 clove garlic, minced
  • β€’ Other:
  • β€’ 2 T toasted sesame seeds
  • β€’ 3 -4 cups oil, to deep fry chicken

Instructions

Toast sesame seeds in frying pan and set aside. Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Mix up marinade and put chicken into it for 20 minutes. Prepare the sauce by mixing all ingredients together, pour into a pot and bring to a boil, stirring all the time. Keep warm over gentle heat while frying chicken. Deep fry chicken a few pieces at a time, until golden brown. Drain on paper towels. Place chicken in serving dish, cover with sauce and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve with rice.
